What does NCOG mean in ONCOLOGY

The Northeren California Oncology Group (NCOG) is an independent clinical research organization dedicated to developing and delivering innovative approaches to cancer treatment. We specialize in oncology clinical trials, working with a network of community sites across the United States and Canada.

NCOG conducts various types of clinical trials in the areas of medical (drugs), surgical and radiation therapy. Our focus is on improving outcomes for people affected by cancer.

Before participating in any clinical trial, it’s important to talk with your doctor about all aspects of the study, including the purpose, duration, anticipated benefits, risks and other key elements. Protocols are created by investigators who work with experienced experts in oncology research from academic centers worldwide. Each protocol must be approved by an institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee before it can be offered to patients at any research site within the NCOG network of community hospitals and clinics nationwide.
