Vermont Youth Strings (VYS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing music education opportunities for young people in the state of Vermont. We offer a variety of instructional programs for children and youth aged 6-17, including instrumental instruction, ensembles, and camps.
Who can participate in VYS programs?
All young people aged 6-17 who live in or attend schools located in Vermont are welcome to participate in our programs.
What instruments are taught by VYS instructors?
Our instructors teach violin, viola, cello, and bass.
Is there an audition process to join VYS programs?
Generally speaking, no. Most of our programs do not require an audition; however certain advanced performance groups may have an audition requirement. Please contact us directly with any questions about auditions.
