What Is BAT?
The Baseball Assistance Team was started in 1986 with the mission of providing much needed monetary assistance to any and all members of the baseball family who fall on hard times. This includes Major League players, scouts, umpires and other personnel, whether from the United States or abroad. All parts of the baseball family can benefit from this unique program. In addition to offering support grants for individuals in need, BAT also provides additional resources through their advocates program and Hall Of Fame Commission which has helped recognize the game’s greatest names and moments since 2011.

Players who are unable to financially support themselves due to either age or injury can turn to BAT for assistance.
