What does DCRC mean in RESEARCH

The Digital Curation Research Center (DCRC) is an interdisciplinary research center focused on digital curation and the way in which it shapes our world. Through research into topics such as data management, digital preservation, and archiving, DCRC looks to further understanding of the role that digital curation plays in the current and future state of society.

The Digital Curation Research Center is funded by internal grants from universities across the United States and by external donors and sponsors. These funds are used to support faculty and staff who work at DCRC, as well as to provide resources for their projects.

The Digital Curation Research Center focuses its research on topics related to data management, digital preservation, and archiving. This research helps us better understand the impact that technology has on our lives. Additionally, DCRC researches how digital curation affects other areas such as communication, education, politics, law, economics, finance, entertainment, healthcare, business intelligence and more.

There are many ways individuals can contribute to DCRC’s work. The main goal of the Digital Curation Research Center is to help bridge the gap between technology and policy makers/advocates by conducting relevant research into topics such as data management and digital preservation while providing insights into how these issues affect society today. We also provide advice on best practices for organizations managing large amounts of information within their systems so they can remain compliant with international laws related to data storage/protection while ensuring their consumers’ privacy remains secure.

Since its inception in 2004, the mission of the Digital Curation Research Center has remained largely unchanged; however over time it has grown significantly as new research initiatives have been undertaken by faculty members associated with DCRC’s various disciplines ranging from political science to computer engineering. The growth of technology in recent years has led to rapid change within this field consequently resulting in new opportunities for researchers engaged with this organization.
