What does BRPA mean in RACING

The Bacolod Racing Pigeon Association (BRPA) works to promote, foster and encourage the sport of pigeon racing among its members. Through BRPA, we strive to create a vibrant community that honors our avian athletes and provides support for all forms of pigeon racing.

Joining BRPA is easy - simply fill out the online membership form on our website. Once accepted, you will be able to gain access to all of our member benefits, such as discounted access to race events, exclusive discounts from partner stores and more.

We regularly host a variety of races throughout the year that are tailored for both amateur and professional racers alike. We also offer a wide range of other activities such as seminars, training days, club meetings and social gatherings.

Yes! Our races are open to anyone regardless of experience or skill level; however there may be certain age requirements depending on which race you wish to enter. Please make sure to check out our event guidelines before signing up.

There are lots of ways you can get involved in BRPA! You could participate in our races or join one of our many committees where you can help plan events or work towards benefiting the broader racing community. You can also come along to our meetings or socials where you can meet passionate fanciers just like yourself!

While some specialized equipment may be necessary for serious competitions, most people who participate in pigeon racing choose not do so using any special items apart from a few tools like loft padding, feeders and attachable baskets/boxes that they will need in order to take their pigeons out into the field safely.

Vaccinations may vary depending on location and your local regulations; however generally most birds should have an Avian Influenza vaccination at least once a year before attending any race events with us. Please check with your veterinarian for advice on appropriate vaccinations for your bird.

Generally speaking, most types of homing pigeons are suitable as racers provided they have good health and breed well together. However, certain breeds may not perform as well under certain conditions due to physical characteristics that could slow them down during flight – please contact us if you're unsure about your chosen breed's suitability for competitive raceday use.

Yes - participants must be 18 years old or older in order to compete in any BRPA sanctioned race event. However younger family members (ages 10-17) may accompany parents/guardians who are 18+ years old during non-race related activities such as trainings and socials if they follow all safety protocol outlined by BRPA staff personnel at those times.
