What does ARPN mean in NURSING

ARPNs must complete an accredited nurse practitioner program that includes graduate-level coursework in areas such as anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, physical assessment, diagnostics and more. In some states, they must also obtain an additional license specific to the state's regulations.

ARPNs can provide primary care services such as diagnosing illnesses and injuries, prescribing medications, educating patients on preventative health measures and providing referrals for specialty services. They can also collaborate with other medical professionals in order to develop treatments plans and coordinate patient care.

Working with an ARPN provides access to personalized medical solutions tailored specifically for each patient's individual needs. Additionally, due to their advanced training and experience in various areas of medicine, they are able to recognize signs of complex or serious illnesses that may have otherwise gone unnoticed by a physician or general practitioner.
