What Is ACOTE?

ACOTE is an independent accrediting body that sets and maintains the educational standards for entry-level occupational therapy programs across the country. The organization works with both on-site and distance education providers offering degree, diploma, and certificate programs in occupational therapy that have been evaluated by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Occupational Therapy Assistant (ARC-OTA).

The purpose of ACOTE's standards is to ensure a well-prepared workforce including competent practitioners who are able to provide direct patient care services.
