What does FVI mean in INSTITUTES

Family Violence Institute (FVI) is an organization which focuses on preventing and reducing the instances of family violence in the United States. FVI provides assistance and resources to families affected by family violence and works closely with other organizations to ensure that all victims have access to the help they need.

FVI strives to increase awareness about family violence through community engagement, education, service provision, policy, systems change and research. FVI also works with communities, survivors, families and funders to develop innovative solutions to preventing future instances of family violence.

Through its programs and initiatives, FVI provides assistance such as crisis counseling, legal advice and advocacy services, court accompaniment services, sheltering services for survivors of domestic abuse, support groups for survivors, referrals for housing and other resources needed by victims of domestic abuse.
