What does NPEC mean in EDUCATIONAL

NPEC stands for the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative. It is an organization that works to promote collaboration between national education-related organizations.

NPEC helps to create and manage effective partnerships between the US Department of Education, higher education institutions, and other national organizations through various initiatives.

Partners at NPEC include representatives from the White House Department of Education, state governments, degree-granting colleges and universities, accrediting agencies and associations, educational associations and foundations, business councils, libraries, student aid administrators and federal government departments such as the Internal Revenue Service.

The services offered by NPEC include assistance with data quality improvement projects; developing methods to improve communication with schools; creating platforms for electronic data transfer; collecting feedback from stakeholders on regulations; developing tools that enable tracking of regulations; sharing research on best practices in regulatory compliance; providing expert advice on federal regulations; hosting workshops on topics related to postsecondary education compliance and accountability; and consulting with other entities interested in understanding postsecondary policy or compliance issues.

One example of a program initiated by NPEC is its Data Quality Improvement Project (DQIP), which was established in 2007 to improve the clarity and consistency of college reporting requirements in order to ensure more accurate information about postsecondary outcomes for students. The DQIP also aims to reduce unnecessary reporting requirements for institutions while increasing their ability to provide up-to-date information about educational progress.
