What does BPRP mean in BIOLOGY

The purpose of the BPRP is to ensure that personnel working with sensitive biological and chemical materials are reliable and trustworthy. The program focuses on factors such as trustworthiness, psychological stability, commitment, physical well-being, honesty and leadership qualities that can affect a person's ability to work in this field.

In order to be eligible for the BPRP, applicants must meet certain criteria including having at least three years experience working with biological and chemical materials; having no criminal record; being drug free; passing a medical examination; and demonstrating loyalty to their branch of service or government body.

An individual must undergo an initial assessment prior to being accepted into the program. After acceptance into the program, individuals will receive annual assessments as part of their commitment to maintain good physical and mental health throughout their employment. Q: What types of tests might an individual have to take when applying for or while enrolled in BPRP? A: Depending on their branch or specialty, testing includes but is not limited to physical examinations, psychological evaluations, personal interviews, financial background checks, drug screenings and polygraph tests. Q: What happens if an applicant fails one or more tests during an assessment? A: If an individual fails any portion of their assessment they may not be admitted into the program or may be removed from it depending on which assessment they failed.
