What does CNBL mean in BASEBALL

CNBL stands for Calgary North Baseball League. It's a competitive sport offering high-level baseball within the city of Calgary and throughout Alberta. The league consists of teams of varying skill levels and provides members with an opportunity to participate in organized competition.

Currently, there are 16 teams competing in the Calgary North Baseball League (CNBL). Each team consists of a full roster with players aged 5 to 18 years old.

Children aged 5 to 18 years old who live or attend school in Calgary or surrounding areas are eligible to register and participate on a CNBL team. All players must hold a valid Canadian birth certificate or government-issued ID indicating their place of residence.

Participation fees vary depending on the particular organization associated with each team, but typically range from $300 - $400 per season. This includes uniform & equipment costs, insurance coverage, league fees & administration costs.

Yes! We understand that some kids may not be ready yet for competitive play, so we offer 'Little Sluggers' Training Program which bridges the gap between recreational play and competitive play by introducing specific baseball skills such as batting mechanics, fielding techniques, base running strategies, etc., while still having fun!

Tryouts are not mandatory but some coaches may require it before accepting new members onto their teams; it varies from coach-to-coach depending on their practices & preferences when forming their rosters prior to each season's start date. If your chosen coach does hold tryouts, feel free to reach out directly if you wish to inquire more into this topic and/or register for tryouts if applicable!

Safety is always a top priority at all times for our players; we ensure that all coaches are certified through Baseball Canada's Respect In Sport program and all umpires must follow standards established by SABA's Umpire Divisions Handbook. Additionally, we have implemented strict guidelines around social distancing during practice & games where applicable.

Absolutely! We understand that finances can be difficult during these challenging times and therefore we have partnered up with KidSport Alberta which provides assistance through grants bases on need including access to secure gear & uniforms as well as tuition scholarships given away every spring season.

Games during regular seasons usually last between 2 - 4 hours depending on field conditions and amount of innings played; post season tournaments may be slightly longer due weather delays or sudden death scenarios.
