What does WTFA mean in FOOTBALL

The Western Tasmanian Football Association (WTFA) is a regional football governing body that serves the western half of Tasmania. It is committed to providing the highest quality football opportunities and experiences for players, coaches, officials and fans of all levels within its jurisdiction.

WTFA manage leagues in both genders in Senior, Junior and Women's competitions. These leagues are comprised of clubs from all over Western Tasmania that compete for league championships throughout the year.

Joining a team in one of our leagues is easy — simply contact your local club or contact our offices and speak to one of our staff members who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Yes — junior players must be under 18 years of age at the start of the season, while senior players must be over 18 years old. Any exceptions to these age limits will require approval from our offices ahead of time.

Yes — we host several tournaments throughout the year which provide teams with an opportunity to compete against each other in inter-club friendly matches as well as competitive ones if desired.

Yes — there are annual registration fees for all members who wish to be part of one of our teams or leagues, and these must be paid before you can participate in any matches or activities organised by us.

All members living within Western Tasmania are eligible to play in our leagues so long as they meet the minimum age requirements outlined above.

Yes — transfers between different teams within our leagues are allowed on a case-by-case basis subject to approval from both clubs involved as well as from our offices before going ahead with any transfers.

Yes — all official matches organised under WTFA come with assigned referees that make sure that rules are enforced and obeyed throughout each game or match.
