What does WREI mean in UNIVERSITIES

The Women's Research and Education Institute (WREI) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing gender-responsive policy through research, education, and advocacy tailored to meet the needs of women in the United States. WREI works with partners to identify issues of concern to women, develops innovative solutions for policy challenges, and communicates findings to key stakeholders.

WREI works on a range of issues related to workplace justice, economic security, health and wellness, education equity and effective governance. We research each issue to acquire data-driven solutions that can be used by policy makers in crafting legislation that will work for all women in the United States. We also provide training seminars and workshops about these issues for organizations and individuals who are interested in learning more about feminist policies.

WREI uses a variety of strategies such as research, advocacy campaigns, meetings with decision makers at all levels of government, public education resources and materials on current issues affecting women. We also use direct action initiatives such as demonstrations or media campaigns when needed. In addition we engage in problem solving partnerships with organizations working on similar initiatives to increase our reach and impact.

Our research focuses on issues particularly relevant to women such as wage discrimination, healthcare access or education equity gaps among different socio-economic communities across the country. We conduct studies from both qualitative and quantitative angles that bring together a wide range of perspectives from researchers within diverse fields such as economics, sociology or public health. Through our findings we seek out solutions for better representation of women's interests in various arenas including politics and business environments.

Our financial support derives mainly from individual donors foundations corporations institutional funding grants Government contracts other Foundations etc... Additionally we receive generous donations from volunteers who may lack available funds but would still like play their part supporting our cause.
