What does LCPH mean in HEALTHCARE

The mission of LCPH is to protect and promote the health of all people in Lane County. LCPH provides primary prevention and education, environmental protection and monitoring, family planning, immunizations, maternal child health care, communicable disease control, injury prevention and control, substance abuse prevention and treatment, behavioral health screening program for children birth-5 years old, mental health services for adults 65 years or older, chronic disease management among other services.

LCPH offers an array of resources such as information on nutrition, physical activity habits and recommendations; lifestyle changes; an online directory of local community organizations; access to healthcare information; references on social determinants of health; data collection systems such as Oregon PRAMS (Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System); referrals for treatment options from specialists in the area; resources for school-based dental sealants programs; links to studies/reports related to public health topics in Lane County; access to evidence-based practice guidelines for various conditions; educational opportunities through our Community Education Program.

There are several ways to get involved with LCPH! You can volunteer at events sponsored by the organization or become a member of the Focused on Health Coalition. You can join a workgroup focused on specific topics like breastfeeding or transportation safety or attend one of our community forums. You can also donate funds or items needed by LCPH or its programs in order to help them achieve their goals.

Yes! Many of our programs have no cost involved such as our educational seminars and trainings provided through our Community Education Program. Additionally we offer reduced cost vaccinations through our Immunization Program and we partner with local organizations who provide access points into Medicaid coverage if individuals qualify based on income levels and other eligibility requirements.
