We strive to provide fun and educational programming that encourages unplugging from technology and embracing the great outdoors!

KTR offers programs in numerous outdoor destinations across the United States of America including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New York, Oregon, and Washington.We also offer virtual lessons for those unable to travel.
Does participating in a KTR program involve any risks?
Yes. As with any outdoor activity there exists an inherent risk of injury or harm when exploring nature. Our instructors are well-trained professionals who apply best practices in safety management techniques to ensure a safe environment for your child's experience.
How old do I have to be to participate in a KTR Program?
To participate in a KTR Program you must be between the ages of 6 and 17 years old.
What activities will my child do during a KTR Program?
Activities at our programs will vary depending on location but could include learning basic wilderness skills such as fire building, shelter construction, animal tracking; as well as having an introduction into low impact camping techniques such as tent pitching;; orienteering; rock climbing; paddling; backpacking; mountain biking & more!
Do I need equipment for my child’s program?
It depends on the program you sign up for! Many of our day camps require only things like sunscreen and lunch while certain experiences may require additional clothing or gear depending on seasonality and duration of your selected program. Be sure to read through all resources pertaining to your selected program before arriving so that you are fully prepared for what lies ahead.
Are meals provided throughout KTR programs?
No meals are not provided throughout our programs unless otherwise specified within the course description/schedule which can be found on the individual course page associated with your chosen course. Your child should come prepared each day with snacks or non-perishable food items they might need throughout their experience with us!
Is medical insurance required for participation in a KTR Program?
We highly recommend you carry medical insurance coverage for your child if participating in one of our signature experiences or programming courses lasting longer than three hours in length. All participants must sign an assumption of risk form prior to starting any activity which describes risks associated with participating in an outdoor adventure based activity.
