What does IDSC mean in UNIVERSITIES

The mission of the Infectious Disease Science Center (IDSC) is to improve global health by understanding, preventing, and controlling infectious diseases. Our goal is to reduce the burden of infectious disease on individuals and society, through research and development of new technologies, treatments, and interventions. We strive to be a leader in advancing scientific knowledge and translating it into effective public health solutions to address some of today's most pressing infectious diseases.

The IDSC conducts interdisciplinary research that integrates basic biological sciences with epidemiology, clinical medicine, statistics, bioinformatics, public health policy and communication to advance our understanding of infectious diseases. This includes understanding disease transmission dynamics; developing strategies for prevention and control; evaluating interventions; conducting vaccination campaigns; researching disease diagnostics; exploring novel therapeutic approaches; exploring host-pathogen interactions; synthesizing international datasets on infections diseases; evaluating risk factors for disease emergence and spread; improving diagnostics, therapy and prevention; determining antimicrobial resistance patterns; studying vector-borne pathogens including mosquitos carrying malaria or Zika virus and centipedes carrying leishmaniasis parasites among many more.

The IDSC provides a range of services to support our mission. These include research services focused on the areas outlined above as well as teaching services which include lectures delivered by leading experts in the field. In addition, we also offer consulting services for organizations or individuals looking for advice regarding their work related to infectious diseases. We are also always available to answer any questions you may have about our work or how we can assist you with your own efforts.

By conducting innovative scientific studies in an interdisciplinary setting, we hope to make real changes in how infectious diseases are monitored with an eye toward developing better preventative actions against them at every step—from research all the way through implementation—to save lives anywhere around the world from these dangerous conditions. Moreover, our integration of modern technology such as machine learning into our processes will allow us to identify future cases early on so life-saving interventions can be taken quickly without delay.

Yes! The IDSC maintains relationships with multiple universities across the globe that span a variety of disciplines related to infectious diseases including epidemiology, clinical trials and vaccine development. Additionally, we collaborate regularly with governmental organisations like World Health Organization (WHO) as well as nonprofit organisations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Through these collaborations we are able to maximize our resources so that no effort is wasted when it comes to combatting these dangerous conditions.

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference by helping us investigate various aspects of infectious disease science from basic laboratory experiments through advanced computer modeling techniques. Volunteers with experience in molecular biology-related activities such as DNA sequencing would be especially welcomed but all interested participants are encouraged regardless of background or expertise level provided they bring their enthusiasm full circle!
