FUAC stands for Universidad Autonoma de Colombia, which is an autonomous university located in Bogotá, Colombia. It was established in 1827 and is considered one of the oldest autonomous universities in the country. History Of The Institution

The roots of Universidad Autonoma de Colombia can be traced back to 1801 when Simón Bolívar founded a school called Real Colegio San Bartolomé which had two faculties; Law and Medicine. Later on these two faculties merged with other schools to form what later became known as the University of Cauca in 1827. In 1973 that same university was reorganized as Universidad Autonoma de Colombia by a decree issued by President Misael Pastrana Borrero giving it autonomy over its studies program, student administration and budgetary matters. Since then it has grown into one of the leading universities in South America offering quality education at affordable rates for students from all walks of life!
