What does FTCP Mean?

FTCP stands for Florida Tobacco Control Program. It is a program developed by the State of Florida as part of its effort to reduce tobacco use among youth and adults in the state. The initiative was established by Governor Jeb Bush in 2004 and has become a major component of the larger efforts to reduce smoking rates in the state since then. How Does FTCP Work?

Additionally, FTCP works with media outlets to inform Floridians about smoke free environments through television advertising campaigns and special events highlighting quitting tips like “Pay It Forward” Day which encourages smokers trying to quit (with cessation aids) to give their cigarettes away instead of throwing them away so they don’t become litter on beaches or parking lots.

Lastly, FTCP ensures compliance with relevant laws/regulations governing tobacco sales/sampling within stores throughout the state by conducting regular compliance checks at retailers suspected of selling product without a permit or providing sample product outside designated areas (e.g., near school campuses). This strategy also assists local law enforcement officials who may not be aware of current regulations when issuing citations/fines for violations found during routine patrols or investigations involving stores suspected of selling illegally purchased tobacco products without a valid license/permit from FL Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS).
