What does AFOA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The American Fats and Oils Association (AFOA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves to disseminate information about food fats and oils, defend fair trade practices within the industry, promote consumer education on dietary fats, and advocate for research into new technologies related to fats and oils.

Membership of AFOA includes both primary producers of food fats (refiners, processors) as well as secondary distributors who sell products containing edible oils such as retailers, restaurant chains, foodservice companies etc. There are also individual members who support the mission of AFOA by becoming part of this dynamic association.

AFOA provides year-round programming including symposia, workshops, seminars, conferences, webinars and other activities needed to achieve its mission. Through these events, members can gain knowledge about industry trends and advancements in technology that can be applied within their business operations with greater efficiency.
