Diabetes Youth Services programs are designed to assist young people aged 21 and under who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Regardless of background or ability, our programs offer resources to help make navigating life easier for everyone impacted by diabetes.

Yes! All of the services provided by Diabetes Youth Services are free of charge and open to all eligible participants. We also partner with local organizations to provide additional services that may incur a fee but still remain accessible to those with lower incomes or other economic hardship.

Yes absolutely! We understand that parents, guardians, siblings, and other family members can play an important role in managing diabetes for young people so we encourage them to attend our events whenever possible. Furthermore, we also host seminars specifically geared towards family members and caregivers.

Unfortunately not - while some insurance providers may cover certain diabetic supplies like insulin pumps or glucose meters, most do not cover the supplies provided by DYS such as testing strips or lancets.

Ranging from educational activities like talks from healthcare professionals and group discussions about managing diabetes effectively; to recreational activities such as fun challenges related to health management goals; there’s something for everyone at a DYS event.

Absolutely- aside from our scheduled events we also offer ongoing online support both through email correspondence with one of our team members as well as via various social media networks which serve as an online community for young people dealing with similar struggles associated with diabetes.
