What does DSL mean in STUDENTS

DSL provides various support systems including academic advising, career counseling, mental health services, student activities programming, residential life opportunities, and leadership development. These services are designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to achieve success in their educational journey.

Through its various programming opportunities, DSL encourages strong connections between students that promote continued growth and development both inside and outside the classroom. This includes creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion. As well as providing access to extracurricular activities such as clubs, groups or organizations.

Different departments within the Division of Student Life provide different types of support services. Along with its support services, DSL also promotes overall wellness through fitness classes offered by our Recreation Services department as well as a variety of health initiatives related to nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices provided by our Health Promotion Office located on campus. Additionally we have resources available online which includes tutoring sessions held through the Counseling & Psychological Services office for students who are struggling with stress management during their academic journey.

At its core the mission of DSL is about creating an enabling environment where students can thrive academically as well as socially by forming meaningful connections with peers and faculty across different areas of study from freshman year all the way up until graduation. Through promotion of positive behaviors like respect for oneself as well as others in addition to supporting learning outcomes beyond just scholarship; community service projects; peer mentorship programs; participation in cultural events etc,. either organized through us or individual initiative — that collectively helps create strong foundations in promoting holistic growth among individuals towards successful completion of their educational goals.
