What does NFNA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The National Flight Nurses Association (NFNA) is an organization of nurses dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare and services in the field of aeromedical transportation.

Membership in NFNA is open to all Registered Nurses who actively practice or have practiced in the specialty of flight nursing within the past three years or who are employed as a flight nurse or educator within the past five years.

The objectives of the NFNA are to provide continuing education opportunities for registered flight nurses, promote safe practices and health care quality within aeromedical transport, assist in developing standards for nurse participation in flight programs, and advocate for policies that support excellence in patient care.

NFNA organizes conferences on topics related to flight nursing, encouraging members to participate by presenting on current topics or sharing personal experiences. They host networking events for their members to help build relationships and share knowledge with one another; furthermore, they offer scholarships for students studying flight nursing.

There are many ways you can support and/or get involved with NFNA! You can donate your time and/or money towards their cause. You can also join as a member where you will gain access to resources like webinars and educational materials, be invited to participate with other members at events such as workshops and conferences, have the ability to network with other professionals within your field, serve as a mentor or sponsor students pursuing careers within this speciality area, provide advocacy opportunities when needed, become part of their volunteer team attending local community events such as health fairs—just to name a few!
