What is Mission Springs Outdoor Education?
Mission Springs Outdoor Education (MSOE) is an experiential learning program in the Santa Cruz mountains of California for 5th, 7th, and 8th graders. Our mission is to provide each student with a unique outdoor learning experience that inspires personal growth, develops environmental awareness, and builds community.

MSOE serves 5th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California.
What type of activities are available at MSOE?
At MSOE, students will be exposed to a wide range of activities such as hiking backpacking, camping, skiing/snowshoeing overnight trips and teambuilding initiatives. In addition to these activities we also offer programs such as challenge courses with elements designed to build trust and communication skills, ropes courses designed for individual or group development activities as well as recreational kayaking, canoeing and rafting.
How long are the trips offered by MSOE?
The length of our trips vary depending on grade level from one night up to five nights for 8th grades. All trips include an overnight stay in order to maximize outdoor educational opportunities while mitigating risk factors.

Each trip is lead by qualified instructors who have extensive knowledge in outdoor education principles and practices; they have all completed Wilderness First Responder training or higher and have the necessary credentials for working with adolescents in a wilderness setting.
