What does ACCG mean in COUNCIL

The mission of the Arizona Council on Compulsive Gambling (ACCG) is to provide leadership and support for those affected by problem gambling, and to promote public awareness about the prevention, intervention, and treatment of problem gambling.

The ACCG provides support, education, advocacy, and referral services on problem gambling to individuals, family members, professionals in the field of behavioral health care, and other stakeholders in Arizona. We also provide a Nevada-style confidential 24-hour helpline for screening, assessments and referrals.

Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) is an international campaign that takes place each March to raise awareness about problem gambling and its impact on individuals and their families. During PGAM, we host events across Arizona that provide information about problem gambling prevention, intervention strategies, and resources for treatment and recovery options for those affected by an issue with gambling behavior.

We are always looking for volunteers who are passionate about helping those affected by problem gambling in Arizona! There are many ways you can get involved from attending our monthly meetings in Phoenix to fundraising or participating in one of our many programs and projects throughout the year (visit www.azccg.org/getinvolved for more information).

Unfortunately no, as most of our funding comes from grants which cannot be used towards financial assistance purposes such as debt relief or mortgage payments due to restrictions placed on how grant funds can be utilized. However we do work closely with various organizations nationwide that may be able to provide assistance such as Gamblers Anonymous who offers free counseling services to those seeking help with their problem gambling issues.
