At present, it produces around 95% of its total volumes from onshore properties while 5% from offshore properties as well. With over 100 years of combined experience in exploring oil and natural gas reserves, BRY has developed a customer-focused strategy to help ensure profitability by continuing to successfully develop its resources.
The company was originally founded as a family business by John H Berry Sr who worked as a wildcatter drilling wells all across North America. He eventually began to acquire drilling rights across several states with particular focus on Texas' Permian Basin where he secured development rights which provided him with what we now know to be one of BRY’s largest producing fields – the Spindletop Field near Beaumont TX.
